Hello and welcome to our ‘News Section’.

So far, 2007 has been a particularly busy year. The writing and launch of our first book ‘Coppeen, a glimpse of the past’ has been an exciting and rewarding experience, particularly in terms of motivating our society and gathering relevant local heritage data.

Then the launch of the DVD ‘What a difference a Day makes’ was another big event - a fund raiser through Bengour Harvest Festival for cancer treatment, care & research.

Forthcoming events:

• Traditional & Cultural Craft Fair - Sunday 4th November in Castletownkinneigh Hall
• Monthly meeting 7th Nov. with Peter O’Regan giving an illustrated talk on Milling and mills in the area, with particular emphasis on Howards Mill, Crookstown.
• Annual Table Quiz, Friday 9th Nov. at An Caipín Bar.
• Monthly Meeting on Wed. 5th Dec. with John L. O’Sullivan to give a talk on the old telephone system.
